aka Crack Cookies

Salted Toffee and Chocolate Chip Cookies

Dan renamed these crack cookies since they are so addicting.  It's probably not very PC, but it gets the point across.  Seriously.  You want to make these.  But only when you're having people over.  Otherwise you will sit in front of the television watching Grey's Anatomy from the beginning and finish off a plate.  I mean, if that's your thing.
Ingredients:
 - 3 cups four
 - 1 tsp baking soda
 - 1/2 tsp baking powder
 - 1 tsp salt
 - 1 cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar
 - 1 cup light brown sugar
 - 2 large eggs (at room temperature)
 - 12 oz semisweet chocolate, roughly chopped
 - 1 cup toffee pieces
 - Fleur de sel, for sprinkling

Preheat over to 350 degrees.  Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.  Using electric mixer, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.  Add eggs and vanilla and mix until incorporated.  Add flour mixture a little bit at a time until incorporated and there are no dry streaks.  Stir in, by hand, chocolate and toffee pieces.

Drop the cookie dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet.  I like these kind of big, so I use a heaping tablespoon and kind of squish them together so their sort of round balls and then flatten the tops just a bit. You could use a cookie or ice cream scoop though.  Sprinkle each cookie with fleur de sel.  Bake about 15 minutes or until they're just a bit brown.  Remove cookies from baking sheet and transfer to cooling rack.

Enjoy the weekend! And the cookies!
